The Student was obtained a MSc. Degree after the discuss of her dissertation under the title: "A Novel Technique for Sulfur Removal from the Petroleum Heavy Oils", which was supervised by Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed, on Wednesday 13-11-2019 inside Al-Khwarizmi Hall in Chemical Engineering Department-University of Technology. The discussion committee was comprised of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dhama, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adel Sharif and Lect. Dr. Intisar Hussein. The student explained that the desulfurization of actual heavy crude oil with sulfur content 5.8 wt. % from Halfaya Oil Field in the southern of Iraq was studied using a sodium hydroxide-assisted process. The desulfurization process was achieved in a batch auto-cleave reactor by implementation of the experimental design technique. The objective function (response) was the sulfur content wt%.
