Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban. The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a training course on program accreditation and preparing the study bag on Thursday, 24/10/2024. The course aimed to raise awareness among faculty members of the importance of program accreditation and how to prepare the study bag. The course included a lecture by Asst. Prof. Dr. Farah Talib Jassim. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on evaluating learning outcomes for the first and second standards, a chapter on the role of program accreditation in enhancing the quality of academic education and ensuring that programs comply with international standards. It also reviewed the steps for obtaining program accreditation and the standards necessary to improve educational outcomes in line with the requirements of the labor market, and contributes to raising the level of education and improving the capabilities of graduates. The lecture also addressed the importance of the study bag and how to prepare it according to the requirements of the Bologna process through the first step of the instructor preparing his study bag, which will be announced to the student, and in light of which the student’s choice, the teaching methods used, the mechanism for evaluating the tests, and determining the learning outcomes in a measurable form according to a timetable consistent with the Bologna process will be determined.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering organized a scientific discussion session entitled (Youth and Social Change) on Thursday, 24/10/2024.

The lecture was given by Dr. Nagham Saadoun Rahima from Al-Mustansiriya University - Department of Anthropology. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the importance of the role of youth and their contribution to achieving social change and the extent of youth's abilities to influence society through youth's sense of responsibility that deepens the idea of ​​social change because youth today are more powerful and capable of bringing about this change due to what youth today possess of awareness, knowledge, energy and renewed vitality in their interaction with variables to bring about change in societies through the active participation of youth in building and advancing society, deepening its path and moving towards the process of rebuilding society. In conclusion, the lecturer was honored with a certificate of appreciation from the head of the department in appreciation of her efforts in giving the lecture.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar. The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology organized a scientific awareness workshop entitled (Dangers of Drugs) on Monday 21/10/2024. The lecture was given by Dr. Raafat Kazem Salman and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Safaa Baqer from the General Directorate of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at the Ministry of Interior. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the nature of drugs, their various types, methods of manufacturing and promoting them in society, as well as the causes of drug abuse and the psychological and health risks to individuals, as they lead to the depletion of individuals' health and financial capabilities and energies, which negatively affects the reality of the Iraqi family and society. The legal articles that address cases of drug proliferation and means of treatment and control were also addressed. In this regard, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar stressed that the importance of this lecture lies in the fact that it discusses a very important topic, especially after drugs have become a fundamental challenge facing members of society and seek to destroy and deplete the capabilities of young people and destroy society, which requires more awareness of the dangers of this phenomenon that is alien to Iraqi society.

 In conclusion, the lecturers were honored with certificates of appreciation by the head of the department in appreciation of their efforts in giving the lecture.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology organized an awareness lecture entitled (Strategy of supporting youth and challenges) on Sunday 20/10/2024.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Hiba Naseer Abdul / from the Media College - Iraq University. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the youth empowerment strategy as it includes several interconnected dimensions that focus mainly on enhancing community and national participation, supporting economic growth and innovation, and developing individual and professional capabilities in facing challenges and the importance of enhancing community and national participation as the primary goal of youth empowerment. This reflects the belief in the importance of the role of youth in bearing social and national responsibility and contributing to the decision-making process that affects their communities. In conclusion, a certificate of appreciation was awarded by the Head of the Department to the lecturer in appreciation of her efforts in giving the lecture.

The Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering supervises the process of installing smart screens in all graduate studies halls

Within the framework of the technological development renaissance witnessed by the University of Technology and its efforts to advance the educational process, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, and the administrative, scientific and technical staff in the department supervised the process of installing smart screens in all graduate studies halls, totaling six halls. It is worth noting that during the new academic year, a master's degree was introduced in the field of chemical engineering and oil pollution, in addition to the previously existing postgraduate studies, which included a general doctorate, a master's degree in process engineering, and a master's degree in chemical engineering and oil refining. The head of the department expressed his thanks and gratitude for all the efforts that contributed to the implementation of the process of rehabilitating the classrooms.
