 Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, President of the University of Technology, inspected the conduct of the final exams for the first semester for graduate students in the Department of Chemical Engineering on Thursday, 1/4/2023. During his tour, the university president praised the administrative and technical procedures adopted by the department for the success of the examination process. This inspection visit comes to closely examine the nature of exams and overcome difficulties in order to improve the educational process and apply quality standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is worth noting that graduate studies in the Department of Chemical Engineering include doctoral studies in the general specialty of the department, master’s studies in the specialty of chemical process engineering, as well as master’s studies in the specialty of oil refining engineering and gas technology. This year, it is hoped to begin studying for a master’s degree in chemical engineering and oil pollution.

Within the cultural and scientific program of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology. The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a scientific lecture entitled Drugs and their negative impact on youth and society. On Wednesday, 1/3/2024.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Haneen Hamid Ismail from the Baghdad Health Department, Al-Karkh, Martyr Muhammad Baqir Al-Hakim Hospital. During which a detailed presentation was presented on the phenomenon of drug abuse and its serious effects on the health and safety of individuals, as it is a psychological and sometimes organic condition resulting from human interaction with the drug. The types of abuse and its relationship to addiction were also discussed and the most prominent influential factors that push individuals towards drug abuse, which include the nature of the family environment and weak inhibitions. Religion, economic status, level of education, and prevailing culture. In conclusion, the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar, awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in appreciation of his efforts in delivering the lecture, calling on all students and associates to confront this dangerous phenomenon, to curb it and eliminate it, as it is an alien phenomenon to the individual and society in our dear country.
