Annual Report of the legislation and administrator Affairs Unit

Administrator Affairs Unit was founded in 2005 according to the Executive Order number 338 on 21/11/2005 to accommodate the new developments in the University of the Technology which declare a new plan to segregate their scientific departments in a way to be equal in their skeleton to any college of engineering or college of science thereof an Administrative Affairs Unit has Transferred their jurisdiction from the Headquarter of the University to departmental jurisdiction to include the following:

Issuing Executive orders of rewarding the employees 3 months leaves.
Issuing Executive orders to nominee new applications.
Issuing executive orders for rewarding female's employees' motherhood absence.

The skeleton of the legislation and administrative Affairs Unit in the department include the following positions:

Manager who is responsible to role out his employees to organize the legislations and administrations aspects in the department.
Secretary Unit: responsible for organizing the inward mails and printing the response letters, archiving, following up, organizing the archive, handling and updating the absence leaves of all department's employees.
Employee responsible to update the information on the status of each employee via Employee System software which prepared and used to archive and update specific information.
Employee responsible on updating the Archive System by feeding in all the required information and in synchronizing with the Information Technology Centre by archiving all the files of all department's employees with the help of a software so the Unit can preserve those information and make use of it.
Employee responsible to organize cards for every staff members and department's employees.
Employee responsible on legislations and laws which covers the following:

-Writing hearing sessions of the investigation committees.

-Following up all the legislation affairs in the department.

-Checking up all the papers that justified from justice of peace and confirms its legality.

The total number of the Academy is (72) classified according to the academic grade below

Departmental Library Annual Report
Library of University has a great impact on the student and the staff member as well; it provides a lot of information on what are available of references, thereof the library is considered a crucial and vital corner among other corners in the educational process. From this prospective, the departmental library has been established along with the foundation of Chemical Department in 1975, and through the years it is grown gradually and steadily steps till it is now contains more than 5000 books in chemical engineering and other scientific fields which are directly related to the chemical engineering. Every year the library add enough number of newly and updated references from book exhibitions that organized by the Iraq's Universities or by direct buying from the local agents' international editorial publishers. The quantity of books are mainly depend on the amount of fund the Department and the University will reserved for this purpose and finally there is the donation channel to enhance the library with new boos and references. In addition to aforementioned, the library includes many important and distinct references and encyclopedias in engineering, and science fields and particularly the chemical engineering field, some are the following;
1. Kirk Othmer: Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 24 Volumes. 2. Considine; Chemical and Process Technology Encyclopedia. 3. McGraw-Hill; Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, 15 Volumes. 4. Bever; Encyclopedia of Material Science and Engineering, 8 Volumes.
The library includes also Ph.D., M.Sc. and diploma theses that accomplished in the Department since its establishing and till nowadays beside to other donated theses from other Universities and the ones donated from some staff members and researchers which reached around 400 theses. Also the library subscribed with a number of engineering and scientific journals, on particular the ones issued at the different Iraqis Colleges and Universities. The library runs by permanent librarian committee which nominate its nominee at the beginning of each year, according to executive order which is executively rule out by the Scientific Deputy of the Department. This committee will be consist of 4 academic staff members and the 2 librarians and it held its meeting periodically to discuss everything that related to the management of the library. The president of the librarian committee since 2007 is Assist. Prof. Dr. Issam Kamel Salih.
