And under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr. The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a workshop entitled (Products and Services of Modern Paints Company) on Tuesday 25/2/2025.
The workshop included scientific lectures by Dr. Muhammad Jaber Yas and R. Engineers Alaa Abdul Razzaq and Engineer Atef Asfour from the General Company for Modern Paints.
During which a detailed presentation was given on the reality of the modern paint industry and the types of products produced by the Modern Paints Company. The company's most important products of fire-resistant paint were also presented, in addition to addressing the properties and advantages of the company's products and the nature of the projects implemented by the company in the public and private sectors.
At the end of the workshop, the lecturers were honored with certificates of appreciation by the head of the department in appreciation of their efforts in giving the lecture,

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering held a joint symposium with the College of Petroleum Operations Engineering at Tikrit University entitled (Production of sustainable carbon supported by magnetized iron and its use in purifying polluted water). In the presence of the Advisor to the Parliamentary Energy Committee, Dr. Ahmed Yassin, and the Assistant Dean of the College of Petroleum Operations Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Yassin Dayea, and a group of college professors. The symposium included scientific lectures given by (Assistant Professor Adnan Ibrahim Ahmed) (Assistant Professor Safa Khalaf Attia) from the College of Petroleum Operations Engineering - Tikrit University. The symposium aimed to exchange experiences and scientific research on how to convert solid waste containing iron into materials that can be used sustainably, as the latest technologies in the field of waste treatment using magnetic carbon and its role in reducing environmental impacts were discussed. The symposium also highlighted the possibility of using these technologies in treating industrial waste and reducing environmental pollution. In this regard, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, stressed during the symposium the importance of preserving the environment, pointing out the importance of enhancing sustainable development, protecting the environment and protecting the health of society, as the government program of the state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research were keen to pay great attention to the environment and sustainable development. On the other hand, the University of Technology has adopted the slogan of a sustainable green technological university in all aspects of its scientific and administrative programs and curricula. The scientific symposium session was chaired by Dr. Buthaina Ali Abdul, Director of the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit in the department, and Dr. Khadija Najah as its rapporteur. At the end of the symposium, the guest delegation and the lecturers were honored by the Head of Chemical Engineering in appreciation of their efforts. In addition to honoring the emerging companies that were established by the unit in the Chemical Engineering Department, represented by the company (P.R.E.CHEM.ENG CLUB) headed by Assistant Lecturer Dr. Qusay Jaafar Al-Obaidi and his student team, as well as the team of Dar Company (DAR COMPAN) consisting of (Assistant Professor Dina Saadoun, Assistant Professor Ahmed Zamel, Assistant Professor Chemist Ruwa Alaa, Assistant Professor Taqi Jalal, and Assistant Professor Khadija Najah) for their distinguished participation in the activities of the Entrepreneurship Week and the National Industries Exhibition held at the University of Technology.

Written by zaid kareemBased on the university's slogan of serving the community, a scientific delegation from the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, headed by Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, visited the General Company for the Manufacture of Medicines and Medical Supplies in Samarra, on Thursday, 27-2-2025. The delegation was received by Chemical Engineer Muhammad Abdul Qader Al-Naimi, General Manager of the company, and the administrative and scientific staff of the company. The General Manager of the company explained the nature of work in the pharmaceutical industry, laboratories and production lines owned by the company, which achieve the final product with high specifications. In a related context, the head of the department, Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, praised the company's efforts and the great service it provides to the community by providing medicines and supplies with national effort and advanced quality. The visit also included a field tour of the departments (Quality Control and Al-Zahrawi specialized in grain production), where the delegation was briefed on the mechanism of the production process and the standards followed in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.
This visit comes within the framework of cooperation between the university and the company, which contributes to the development of production and scientific processes and benefiting from the expertise available at the University of Technology. At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their thanks and gratitude to the company's management for the warm reception. The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a training course on program accreditation and preparing the study bag on Thursday, 24/10/2024. The course aimed to raise awareness among faculty members of the importance of program accreditation and how to prepare the study bag. The course included a lecture by Asst. Prof. Dr. Farah Talib Jassim. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on evaluating learning outcomes for the first and second standards, a chapter on the role of program accreditation in enhancing the quality of academic education and ensuring that programs comply with international standards. It also reviewed the steps for obtaining program accreditation and the standards necessary to improve educational outcomes in line with the requirements of the labor market, and contributes to raising the level of education and improving the capabilities of graduates. The lecture also addressed the importance of the study bag and how to prepare it according to the requirements of the Bologna process through the first step of the instructor preparing his study bag, which will be announced to the student, and in light of which the student’s choice, the teaching methods used, the mechanism for evaluating the tests, and determining the learning outcomes in a measurable form according to a timetable consistent with the Bologna process will be determined.

The lecture was given by Dr. Nagham Saadoun Rahima from Al-Mustansiriya University - Department of Anthropology. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the importance of the role of youth and their contribution to achieving social change and the extent of youth's abilities to influence society through youth's sense of responsibility that deepens the idea of social change because youth today are more powerful and capable of bringing about this change due to what youth today possess of awareness, knowledge, energy and renewed vitality in their interaction with variables to bring about change in societies through the active participation of youth in building and advancing society, deepening its path and moving towards the process of rebuilding society. In conclusion, the lecturer was honored with a certificate of appreciation from the head of the department in appreciation of her efforts in giving the lecture.
The Department of Chemical Engineering organizes an awareness workshop on the dangers of drug proliferation and ways to combat them

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology organized a scientific awareness workshop entitled (Dangers of Drugs) on Monday 21/10/2024. The lecture was given by Dr. Raafat Kazem Salman and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Safaa Baqer from the General Directorate of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at the Ministry of Interior. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the nature of drugs, their various types, methods of manufacturing and promoting them in society, as well as the causes of drug abuse and the psychological and health risks to individuals, as they lead to the depletion of individuals' health and financial capabilities and energies, which negatively affects the reality of the Iraqi family and society. The legal articles that address cases of drug proliferation and means of treatment and control were also addressed. In this regard, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar stressed that the importance of this lecture lies in the fact that it discusses a very important topic, especially after drugs have become a fundamental challenge facing members of society and seek to destroy and deplete the capabilities of young people and destroy society, which requires more awareness of the dangers of this phenomenon that is alien to Iraqi society.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Hiba Naseer Abdul / from the Media College - Iraq University. During the lecture, a detailed presentation was given on the youth empowerment strategy as it includes several interconnected dimensions that focus mainly on enhancing community and national participation, supporting economic growth and innovation, and developing individual and professional capabilities in facing challenges and the importance of enhancing community and national participation as the primary goal of youth empowerment. This reflects the belief in the importance of the role of youth in bearing social and national responsibility and contributing to the decision-making process that affects their communities. The lecture was given by Dr. Walid Abdel Moneim from the College of Open Education. During it, he presented a detailed presentation on the concept of psychological fitness and indicators of psychological balance among individuals, as it is a basic factor in human life that requires the individual to enjoy various personal abilities, energies and qualities that help him face challenges, and to produce, innovate and succeed, to contribute in his role as a good citizen in society. In addition to being a basic pillar in confronting anxiety and stress, which is the first enemy of psychological and mental stability, which requires avoiding it before it occurs and knowing how to get rid of it if it occurs. In addition to the necessity and importance of achieving mental and psychological balance among individuals.
In this regard, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, stressed that the importance of this lecture lies in promoting a culture of psychological fitness among students as they are the youth of the future and the builders of the nation. The lecturer also explained that psychological fitness is one of the main factors that affect our quality of life, as it indicates a person's ability to deal with life pressures and adapt to daily challenges in a healthy and effective manner in order to maintain good health, which requires a person to take care of his psychological fitness on an ongoing basis by following a set of tips and guidelines that help enhance psychological fitness and maintain mental health. Within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Technology within the government program for e-administration, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, held an expanded meeting with the Governance and E-Government Committee and the Information Technology Division in the department on Monday 10/7/2024. The meeting aimed to discuss the mechanisms for starting to implement electronic systems in all scientific and administrative joints of the department in order to prepare all the requirements for the transition towards completing all the scientific and administrative work of the department electronically. In addition to discussing the proposals and mechanisms for completing the work, the nature of the obstacles and the implementation process, in addition to the mechanisms for entering all data and information.
The meeting also emphasized the importance and necessity of cooperation to start implementing the system and adopting electronic management that facilitates the administrative work of students, employees and professors, as it saves time and effort by converting routine paper-based administrative work from manual management to electronic management.

Written by zaid kareemBased on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the Technological University regarding linking the academic aspect with the labor market in the public and private sectors, the Industrial Advisory Council at the College of Chemical Engineering held its periodic meeting for the academic year 2023/2024 headed by Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr in the presence of expert professors and consultants representing employers in the industrial and production sectors on Wednesday 7/8/2024. During the meeting, the new curricula prepared according to the Bologna process for all academic stages were discussed. The observations and proposals submitted by the industrial expert professors from the members of the Advisory Council were approved. On the other hand, the vision, mission, and objectives were discussed, as well as their compatibility with the scientific openness that seeks to prepare chemical engineers who keep pace with the latest scientific developments in the labor market and the requirements of sustainable development. The members of the Industrial Advisory Council from employers praised the college's efforts in aligning the curricula of students with the actual needs that support the development of graduates' skills. It is worth noting that the College of Chemical Engineering includes three scientific departments: Chemical Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Oil Refining, and Chemical Engineering and Oil Pollution.
Students of the College of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology begin implementing the college's expanded program for summer training in oil refineries and production plants
Written by zaid kareemBased on the vision of the University of Technology, which pays great attention to the practical and field application aspect, students of the College of Chemical Engineering began the summer training program that aims to develop the students' applied scientific capabilities. Among the most important operational sites in which training was conducted are the oil companies and sites affiliated with the Ministry of Oil, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Electricity. This step comes from linking the practical and theoretical aspect of the student and reviewing the industrial and production reality on the ground, as the student implements two months of summer training distributed by one month in the second phase and another month in the third phase. It is worth noting that the College of Chemical Engineering includes three scientific departments: Chemical Process Engineering, Oil Refining Engineering and Oil Pollution Treatment Engineering. These specializations qualify their graduates to work in factories, refineries, petrochemical complexes, food and pharmaceutical industries and to work efficiently according to academic quality specifications, labor market needs and sustainable development.

Written by zaid kareemIn light of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Technology seeking to apply quality standards in academic laboratories and provide all the comfort requirements for our dear students, the reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign for the laboratories of the Department of Chemical Engineering continued in the building of the department's annex and with direct follow-up by Professor Dr. Khaled Sakr, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, on Monday 19/8/2024 in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Professor Dr. Zainab Youssef and the technical and administrative staff. As the engineering cadres in the Department of Construction and Projects continue to complete their work, the department is witnessing a reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign that includes the rehabilitation of scientific laboratory halls and providing safety and security requirements in each laboratory according to international conditions. It is worth noting that the reconstruction included more than six laboratories in order to enhance laboratory quality requirements and develop the educational process.
This campaign comes in an effort by the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology to provide all means of comfort and success for our dear students in the department for the new academic year 2024-2025
