The Department of Chemical Engineering organizes an applied workshop on implementing the Bologna Pathway Program
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al Ghabban, and within the cultural and scientific program for the second semester, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology organized an applied workshop on implementing the Bologna Pathway Program on Monday, 22/04/2024. The workshop included a scientific lecture by the Head of the Process Engineering Branch, Prof. Dr. Asawer Abdulrasool Kwae and Asst. Prof. Dr. Shurooq Talib Ramadhan. A detailed presentation was given on the importance of the mechanism for implementing the Bologna Pathway System, which was implemented during the current academic year 2023-2024, and the importance of this system for students and graduates. The requirements for implementing the Bologna Pathway program and how faculty members deal with the system were clarified. In addition to how to make a prescribed description of the curricula and how to fulfill the requirements of the Bologna Pathway Program by the examination committees with regard to the distribution of grades according to the designated tables in accordance with the requirements of the system. At the end of the workshop, the lecturers were honored with certificates of appreciation for their efforts in delivering the lecture.
A student from the Chemical Engineering Department wins first prize in the Poetry Thesis Competition held by the Student Activities Department at the University of Technology.
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, the Student Activities Department at the university held a (poetry thesis) competition, in which the student and poet (Zakaria Juma Taha) from the Department of Chemical Engineering won first place. Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, and within the activities of the program for developing scientific research skills for graduate students, which was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for graduate students in Iraqi universities.
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, in cooperation with the Office of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, organized a workshop on writing scientific research. Thursday, 3/28/2024.
The workshop included a lecture by Assistant Professor Dr. Ban Kazem Abd / majoring in English language. During which I gave a detailed presentation on the steps of writing scientific research and how to control parts of the research and review it before publishing.... The workshop was attended by a number of postgraduate students at the master’s and doctoral levels.
It is worth noting that this program is the first in Iraq that was approved at the University of Technology since the year 2020-2021 exclusively for graduate students in the research stage. It has been approved for graduate students in Iraqi universities starting from the year 2023-2024, with the aim of developing and empowering all university students with academic tools and skills.

The workshop included a scientific lecture by Dr. Laith Iyad Salman from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology. During which a detailed presentation was given on the Shanghai classification criteria for universities, which are based on five objective indicators, including the number of graduates and employees who have won Nobel Prizes and field medals, the number of distinguished researchers, the number of articles published in specialized journals, as well as the number of articles scheduled in the Scientific Citation Index, the performance of the institution for each individual, and the need to meet the requirements of Each indicator for entering the classification. At the conclusion of the workshop, a certificate of appreciation was given to the lecturer in appreciation of his efforts in delivering the lecture.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology organized an awareness lecture entitled (Aware university youth and their role in confronting the cultural invasion) on Wednesday, 3/27/2024.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Fadel Khalaf Al-Sharaa from the Center for Studies at the University of Kufa/University of Kufa, during which he gave a detailed presentation on the nature and extent of the intellectual challenges facing university students and young people in general, especially after the spread of many intellectual and behavioral proposals that are far from correct moral behavior and that are inconsistent with the teachings and values of the Islamic religion. Calling for the necessity of fortifying young students intellectually and culturally against all forms of intellectual deviation and preserving their authentic moral values, as they represent basic pillars for building and developing society by raising the scientific and cultural level and consolidating the correct values among the youth segment.
