In order to evaluate the quality of educational programs: The administration of the Chemical Engineering Department meets with fourth-year students in the three scientific branches.
In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Technology regarding continuous improvement of the quality of engineering educational programs, the Presidency of the Chemical Engineering Department, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, the aides to the Department Head, the heads of scientific branches, and the teaching staff in the department, held an extensive meeting with the fourth stage students on Wednesday 22-5-2023. During the meeting, the students were celebrated as they were in the final stage of their studies, which extended over four years, and their suggestions and comments were listened to, which would contribute to enhancing educational programs and developing the students’ technological skills. Forms to evaluate the quality of educational programs were also distributed in order to take students’ comments in a transparent manner and adopt them in improving the quality of educational methods and developing curricula. At the end of the meeting, the administration of the Chemical Engineering Department expressed its pride in this group of our dear students, wishing them all the best and success in their academic career, graduation, and entry into the work field soon, God willing. It is worth noting that the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology currently includes three specialized scientific branches:
1- Chemical process engineering.
2- Chemical engineering and oil refining.
3- Chemical engineering and oil pollution.
The President of the University of Technology honors distinguished faculty members in international publishing
Under the generous patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al Ghabban, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, a group of faculty members at the University of Technology, including faculty members from the Department of Chemical Engineering, were honored on Wednesday, 22 May 2024. The faculty members in the Department of Chemical Engineering who are distinguished by scientific publishing at the international level are: Prof. Dr. Qusay Fadhel Alsalhy and Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed Albayati and Asst. Prof. Dr. Salah Salman Ibrahim. We wish them and all researchers at the University of Technology continued success and progress in serving the scientific journey of our university and our beloved country.
Midland Refineries Company (MRC)/Daura Refinery announces its readiness to train students of the Chemical Engineering Department during the summer vacation according to a modern scientific program
As part of the graduation requirements for students of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, practical training is conducted during the students’ summer vacation for a period of two months, divided into the second stage for one month and during the third stage for one month. In this regard, Midland Refineries Company expressed its readiness to train the department’s students according to the capacity allocated to the universities and according to a high-level methodological program. This came during the visit of Dr. Hossam Ahmed Abdel Hussein, Director of the Engineering inspection Department at Midland Refineries Company, to the Chemical Engineering Department. On this occasion, we extend our thanks and gratitude to the administration of Midland Refineries Company for its scientific role in training students and delivering modern engineering information in the field of oil refining and the nature of the work of operational units.
Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies inspects the exams of students in the Chemical Engineering Department
Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, inspected the conduct of the final exams for the second semester for students of the Chemical Engineering Department in the presence of Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Muayyad Taha, Director of the Studies and Planning Department at the University. Her inspection tour of the examination halls focused on the nature of the measures taken to provide the appropriate atmosphere and the extent of providing all the necessary supplies to conduct the examination process, as well as reviewing the nature of the examination questions and the level of the questions. During her inspection tour, the scientific assistant praised the efforts of the examination committee in the department and the importance of making all efforts to provide the atmosphere. The appropriate exam for the students, wishing them good luck and success.
The head of the Chemical Engineering Department participates in the Fourth International Conference on Energy, Environment and Climate Change Engineering, which was held by the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University
Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, participated in the proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Energy, Environment and Climate Change, which was held by the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University for the period 5/15-16/2024. The energy and oil session was moderated in the specialty of chemical and petroleum engineering in the presence of a number of professors, graduate students, and the dean of the college. It is worth noting that the conference was organized by the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University in cooperation with the University of Birmingham and the Assyria and Al-Isra Universities. The conference aims to enhance scientific concepts for engineering projects that seek to reduce pollution, limit climate change, and encourage sustainability and green technology in all engineering processes.
